Our Mission
The Hello in There Foundation is an initiative established by the family of John Prine, to honor his memory and continue the love, kindness and generosity he shared with the world. The work of the foundation is inspired and guided by John’s simple song title, Hello In There.
Our mission aims to identify and collaborate with individuals and communities to offer support for people who are marginalized, discriminated against or, for any reason, are otherwise forgotten.

Losing John, and missing him every day is a challenge for me and our sons, Jody, Jack and Tommy. We know that the friends and fans John made over his almost 50 year career miss him too- his infectious smile and gentle way in the world; and the performances where he shared his love, kindness, humor, hope, compassion, joy, and all those songs...
The Hello In There Foundation was born out of a deep desire to keep his precious Spirit alive, and to give all of us an opportunity to extend the same hand of Hope and Kindness to those in need of a Hello In There.
